help pave the way to open communication and trust
Bring Me More

Some of you might have heard motivational speakers tell you that you create your own reality. Some of you might wonder how this is so. There is so much out of your control and out of your sphere of influence and yet it affects your life. How then are you in control?

Although this is true, there is also another truth. The only thing in this world you can truly control is how you react. This information is HUGE. When you are able to manage your perspective in such a way that your first response is curiosity and your primary mission is that of a truth seeker you have tapped into the power to change everything.

What are some of the knee jerk reactions you might want to get curious about? Well I can only tell the truth from my perspective. In the past I had a layer of defensiveness that had served me at one point, but no longer did. This manifested in me being too direct, defensive, abrasive, and a know it all. Right or wrong, my approach was from a place of anger, pushing my ideas rather than sharing them.

What I have since learned is that language changes everything, including how you speak to yourself. Everyone wants to belong. Everyone wants to be heard. Everyone wants to be loved. So why be on the offensive when you can just get curious? Curious about your own purpose and wonder about your beliefs that drive your choices.

Asking questions such as:

  • How is this so? Help me understand please.
  • Does this always happen? When and how specifically?
  • Who was involved? How can I help?
  • Where would you like this to end? What is you desire, your intention?

Questions, with no attachment to what the answers might be, help pave the way to open communication and trust. When you ask questions you also step out of the story of what you think the answer is in your head and into the story of others. The result is a better perspective of what seems to be happening, and you are better equipped to make a passionate and constructive decision.

So re-write your own story by asking questions. What might others say about your “truth.” Would their story differ? What if you stepped out of your story and watched it like a movie. Would you change the ending? Would you take a different path?

As you practice curiosity you discover your reactions diminish and your curious state becomes the new you. Then you become the master of your thoughts, your beliefs and your results. Change your story and watch your new life unfold.

“How else can I quietly listen to my voice, my thoughts, and my story in such a way that the unfolding of right now occurs with ease and grace and brings me more than I could have imagined in love, health, and abundance, right now” ~ Gail Kraft

You have the power to choose how you respond and how you use your language and self-talk each day. Choose to appreciate who you are and live in the moment. This is a practice of conscious choice and being present in the uniqueness of the moment. Take control, accept responsibility, and be aware that your perspective, response, and results belong to you alone. You know it’s time for even more.

If not now, when?
